How to Play Minecraft Windows 10 Edition on Windows 7
Can I also play Minecraft Bedrock edition in Windows 7?
Hi, two friends of mine have now got Minecraft on the PS4 and I read that crossplay is possible, but only with the Bedrock or Windows 10 edition, not with the normal Java version.
First, would I still have to buy this version now?
And if so, could I even play them in Win7 (and would crossplay with the ps4 be possible)?
Playing the Minecraft Windows 10 version on Win7 is not possible because you have to get the game from the store
But I can still get a normal code for the Bedrock Edition on G2A eg. To buy. Or do I misunderstand you?
Yes, but it has to be redeemed in the store and that is only available with windows 10
However, you should currently be able to upgrade to Windows 10 free of charge
Yes, the code will only be redeemable under the store that is only available under Win10 but you could create a virtual computer via VirtualBox and then this will be possible
Here is a tutorial for this is a full Windows 10 system and you keep everything normal, including your Win 7
Thanks ππΌππΌ Hope my PC packs the hardware but will try it later, thank you
No problem and good luckπ
Play on a virtual machine. Good joke. Maybe with a newer high-end CPU or a server CPU with several cores than usual. I haven't even managed a long-term / latency-free session so far, although my CPU is not that bad. (3570k, getting on in years, but should get it anyway)
He can forget that with his bad computer.
Why not upgrade to Windows 10? Should still work for free.
Windows 10 itself is generally free… (you don't have to activate a license)

Yes, but if you have Windows 7-8.1 you can upgrade for free. Microsoft officially "ended" 1-2 years ago, but its in-house tool still works.
Is Windows 10 free? π then I'll make the safe
If you are using Microsoft's official upgrade tool, then yes. Just type in Google "Upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 for free" and that's exactly what should come.
Not just when you upgrade.
If you don't activate the license, you actually have no real disadvantages
Well the watermark and that you can't set a background is annoying. I know I know there are even programs that remove it. But he wrote that he has Windows 7. So why not just update
16 VMs run perfectly for me (16x Win Server 2019, CPU R7 2700x to 2.5Ghz)
So I once ran a virtual one in Mc consistently had 60 frames on Max Seetings
But can I still play the Java Edition with windows 10 or just Bedrock?
I have Win10 and can assure you 100% that I can play both Java and Bedrock with it.
Why shouldn't you be able to play the Java Edition anymore? Otherwise, for Microsoft, it would be total self-destruction xd
Alright thank you very much.
@peddahpanh @ Alessio260 Then please explain to me how I can manage a smooth session. So it's not that my computer can't do it, but that the latency is ~ 1-2 seconds. So therefore also useless for normal office applications.
As I said, I have an i5 3570k and a GTX 1060 6GB with Windows 10 Home. Did I forget any settings? No matter which VM software or VM ISO I use, it is unusable. Would also like to use it, would be grateful for a few tips or instructions.
Of course you can play both: 'D. Would even recommend the Java edition if you don't want to play with friends who are playing on the PS4 / XBox One. The Java Edition has endless possibilities. You have mods and texture packs. You pay 20 euro and then you don't have to pay anything anymore.
The Bedrock edition is actually only good for crossplay. You pay the same amount, but you have to pay for skins yourself.
Incidentally, the Java edition also works on Windows 7. Would still update because Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft.
Maybe you also have a few links for good instructions, you would be very grateful.
The only way I found to play the bedrock version and still keep windows 7, is dual boot Ubuntu (linux) then use the Unofficial Minecraft launcher. Works flawlessly - currently using 1.16.02 no issues. Then when you want to go back to win7, just reboot and your good to go. Stay away from windows 10.
plz dont add creeper in minecraft
my bootcamp disables me from getting newer than windows 7
he win7 de oynayabiliyonuz
look i found something without emulator just search for OptiCraft on youtube
please just use windows 10 its so much better than windows 7 for normal users I dont understand why people still insist on using windows 7 with its outdated internals and outdated user interface
Well, people still use Windows 7 for a couple reasons. #1: Compatibility reasons #2: Simplicity, looks and possibly even security.
Ok. So Minecraft Bedrock Edition is coded from C++. Minecraft Education Edition is coded off of C++. You could play Minecraft Education Edition on Windows 7. Not sure why but it's the closets thing to Minecraft Win 10 edition
